About Saimum Saeed
Saimum Saeed is a professional photographer, poet and visual artist based in Bangladesh. With a mad, soul-searching love for visual art, old school charm and mother nature's elusive essence that has energized his passion for photography and writing poetry from school years, he is known as the "Joba Artist”. Joba is Bengali for the flower hibiscus. He finished his studies in Economics from Jahangirnagar University and while in university, he was very actively involved in the arts. He has published two poetry books. As General Secretary of Jahangirnagar Photographic Society, he organized photo exhibitions, initiated successful workshops, coordinated national photo festivals, mentored junior photographers and conducted lectures on different photo genres including fine art, street photography, and subjects like the ‘Frame and its Politics’. He pioneered the biggest cultural event called ‘Him Utshob’, managing the entire artist management and photography segment, and initiated an organization to organize the event consistently every year. He has worked as a freelance photographer for many national newspapers and magazines. His photographs and artworks have been published, exhibited and awarded nationally.
